Why Fondly Written exists
Fondly Written began with a simple belief: the reasons you love someone are worth writing down. Most of us feel them every day and say them far too rarely.
So we made a way to turn them into a real book. You answer a few questions about the person and the life you share, and we help you shape fifty reasons in your own words. You read and change every one, then we illustrate the two of you, or the whole family, in the style you choose.
Every book is made for one person and printed only when you order it, close to where it's going. We hope it ends up on a bedside table, gets read again on hard days, and is kept for years.
What we make
A book of fifty reasons you love someone, in your own words. You answer a few questions about real moments, and our writing assistant turns your answers into first drafts using only what you told us. You keep, change or rewrite every line, and nothing is printed until you've approved it all.
The people in the book look like the people you love. Skin tones, hair textures, faces and bodies, head coverings, glasses, hearing aids, wheelchairs, freckles, vitiligo and grey hair are all part of the character builder, not extras. Your digital book is ready in minutes, and the printed one is made close to whoever's receiving it, in the UK, the US, the EU, Canada or Australia.
What we believe
- Everyone should see themselves. Most personalised books still offer a handful of faces. Ours start from the real people.
- Your words, not ours. We help you get past the blank page. The memories, the jokes and the final say are yours.
- Honest about how it's made. A writing assistant drafts from your answers and our illustrations are made with image tools, then checked against your choices. A person, you, approves every page.
